St. John's Parish Walk for HDH

We had a great day for walking for HDH on Sunday, February 15.  About 50 enthusiastic walkers (and several perky pooches) participated in the event from Discovery Bay to Central to Pokfulam to the Peak to Stanley.  Each walker joined and ended when they desired.  The temperature was moderate, thankfully not too hot. The hazy, cloudy skies were perfect.  We were spared the blazing heat that comes with a day of full sun.  At times we were refreshed with a cool, visible mist in the air.

If the scenic beauty of the Hong Kong landscape wasn’t quite enough to invigorate and energize us, we had rest stops along the way.  Food, drink, and spiritual blessing were provided by those from St. John’s Cathedral and daughter churches, Emmanuel, St. Stephen’s, and Discovery Bay Church. 

Many thanks to all those who walked or supported those who walked! We have not as yet calculated the total amount of funds raised for HDH.  But be assured that the money donated will be used well.  We will continue our efforts to see to it that Hong Kong’s foreign domestic workers’ rights are upheld and exploitation is overcome.
